Class structure freshman year

Usually how many classes do freshman students take on the first semester? How many hours per week of classes does that make? Can you arrange your classes so that you don’t have classes in the morning or don’t have classes a certain day of the week?

1) college: max of 4.5 classes. wharton: usually 5. engineering: 5 i assume. nursing: no clue.
2) hours per week? depends on what classes you HAVE to go to (small classes), which ones you WANT to go to (if you like lectures), and which ones you prefer to SKIP (if you dont like lectures)
3) yes and yes, though depending on your classes it can be easy or difficult to do so

OK thanks a lot!

If you're a freshman in the college you can only take 4.5 classes? What if you want to take more because of a double major, triple major, etc.?

You'll still have 7 more semesters to do all that. I had a friend who bugged her advisor enough to let her take 5 classes, you could do that if you're highly motivated.

But really, with all the hectiness that is the fall semester freshman year - meeting tons of new people, adjusting to living alone, math104 - limiting yourself to 4 classes might be best.
