Class that might affect College Admission?

Hi, I'm an upcoming junior and I'm taking APUSH, AP Art hist, AP Bio, AP Lang and Comp, Pre-Cal Hp, (and yearbook). I'm thinking of dropping Pre-Cal Hp, and replace with just regular Pre-Cal Hp. I've been taking all honors math classes since freshmen year (Geometry HP and Alg 2/Trig Hp), but during my sophomore year I had a REALLY HARD time managing my grade in Alg 2/Trig. I somehow managed to get an A-, which IS A MIRACLE. I'm really worried and unconfident about Pre-cal hp,(plus I have the same strict teacher that I had for Alg 2 Trig for precal). Would it be a good choice for me to just change to regular Pre Cal? Would taking a lower level class affect my college admission?

I'm planning for an English major, so I'm emphasizing more on history and english Ap classes. Thank you.

No, that switch wouldn’t really hurt you.

It could matter if:

a. You apply to colleges where the honors course gives extra points in calculating GPA (e.g. California residents applying to California public universities).

b. The change causes your counselor to mark a lower category for the rigor of your schedule on the counselor’s evaluation sent to the colleges that use it.

All depends on the school. Alot of state schools look at unweight GPA where an A in CP Pre-Calc helps more than an A- in Pre-Calc H. If I were you I’d take Pre-Calc H for a month and see if you can handle it. If you can’t then ask your teacher/counselor to move down. No harm and if you decide that you can handle it then great.

Good luck
