So, I signed up for 2 summer classes that I really wanted to take (German R5B and Stat 133) but realized that there is a 30 min overlap between a discussion for stat and the german lec. Do you think the professors would mind as long as I do the work and make it to the important stat discussions (quizes labs etc)?

I would ask the professors via email if you know the instructors already. Generally though, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t recommend (or allow?) it. Summer classes are extremely compact and material-dense already, so missing 15-30 minutes of class everyday would make a pretty big impact.

awesome thanks for the reply :DDDD
Do you know any methods for finding my instructor because I cant find it listed anywhere for summer classes :[

I very much doubt they’ll allow it, especially since R5B is (or should be) a small class. It’s not some lecture hall. You’re missing out on a lot of stuff within that 30 minutes (if you have a halfway competent GSI).
Check the major’s website for possible instructors. Or look on Bearfacts to see who the instructor is (hopefully they’ve updated it) and then find the e-mail on the major’s website.
