We're headed off to Destination Tulane. My son is undecided about his major but wants to sit in on some classes. The school provided a pretty large list of courses that are open to visitors. Does anyone have any recommendations?

When we visited last year, D went with intention of sitting in on classes related to areas of interest of study to see what some of the professors were like. However, due to other activities she took part in she was off in the time schedule so chose another class to attend. In fact one of the tour guides escorted her to the class.
So my advice is to select what you think would be a good timeslot and group of classes in that timeslot, but have a backup plan just in case. Really, sitting in on any class should provide you with an overall feel for professor/student interaction and some of students may make themselves available to you when class ends for questions.
Enjoy your visit!

I vistited Business Law and Diversity of Life for Destination Tulane. I would actually recommend them both. Diversity of Life is held in Tulane's largest lecture hall, so it would be good to see what such a large class is like. Also, the professor was really entertaining. Business Law was a good business class, held in one of the typical business classrooms. They are scheduled so that you can attend them both.

When D went a couple years ago, she attended a neuroscience lecture. She loved it....most of it was over my head, but the professor seemed to really ENJOY teaching those kids.
