I've been on a four person wait list for a Public Health class for around 2-3 months. The lecture is available, but the discussion has a wait list of four. My adviser said a spot would probably open up by the time classes started, but it's getting close and the classes are still full. Should I just show up to the discussion and hope to get added, or should I start looking for a different class?

Just show up…have a backup class in mind also you could email professor directly see if they will offer you an override into the discussion.

I would show up early and I would sit in the front. Go up to the professor after class and tell them that you’re excited about the course and that you hope to get off the wait list soon. Professors teach because they love their subject and if they see you love it too, it goes a long way.
