Classes a year

sorry if this has been done, but it seems like people take like a ton of classes a year

i only take 6 so i just wondering if alot more schools take more

I also take 6 a year.

Same... summer classes, sometimes, make it 7.

6 classes a day, but really we have mandatory religion so we only have 5 classes that we can choose from

Optional extra period. It's a mandatory 6, though. I took the optional.

Freshman are forced to take 7. Sophomores and Juniors need at least 6. Seniors can take 5. Everyone has to take a mandatory Religion class, and the maximum number of classes is 7.

6 periods a day.

We have 6 classes mandatory, unless you take dual enrollment. We also have an optional 1st period but it's too early in the day for me, so I take an additional class online.

7 Periods a day
1 must be health/pe
Must have atleast 5
I have 6 classes + health/pe

^Most kids at our school take PE online haha...very interesting. I took Personal Fitness online and I never ran a mile or exercised at all and I still got a 97%.

And I just remembered that all the schools in my county have to switch to a mandatory 7-period day. I can't begin to imagine the amount of homework I'll get.

^ pe online... how wierd... we run ... a lot... like between 1 and 2.5 miles a day.

I'd like to take it online... haha

7-period days = sooooooo much homework

^Yea, I really want a 4-period day (even though the class time would be 90 minutes for each class). Then I could focus more on learning rather than homework.

I tried emailing a school board member about why a block schedule would be better, but he didn't care. IMO, it should be left up to the students to decide what they want.

^ yea... I would rather that too. Then atleast you can focus on the classes and it isn't like you finally settle down after the bell rings, talk for ten minutes and then leave...

Unfortunately, I have never had less then 7 periods a day... I wish I have...

8 a year, block schedule. Four full year, alternating schedule, four semester.

Might drop one, though.

8 periods a day; 1 is supposed to be lunch but i miss it due to over scheduling :[ Another one for Health & Gym. So really 7 majors a day :|

7 periods a day
you can get early release though, and go home either end of 6th/end of 7th...if you have a job/decent grades
but I take 6 classes bc AP sciences are all 2 periods long

6 a year
7-8 max
around 10-12 if u go nuts and take the college classes offered at the school
then theres the summer
this summer i might do 2-3

i'm only taking 6 this year, but one is a 2 period long class and one is pe. last year i took 7 (with one being 2 periods long). i didn't have a lunch last year, so i learned my lesson and decided not to do that my senior year.

8 every year

I would like to add that the thing which bugs me about the optional period at my school is that my weighted GPA is lower than someone with 6 periods and the same amount of weighted classes.
For example, say I take 3 weighted classes/7 periods and ace all classes.
My W GPA would be 31/7=4.43
If someone with 3 W classes/6 per aces them all then the W GPA would be 27/6=4.5

However, taking 3 W classes/7 periods would benefit the UW GPA if a B was earned in any class.

Still bugs me though, because when people ask for my W GPA, it turns out to be lower than someone who takes one less period. Oh well. We don't have vals and I suppose colleges weigh GPAs differently so it wouldn't really matter in the long-run.
