Classes and Professors at Georgia Tech

So I was accepted RD at Georgia Tech (I could NOT believe this, but hey xD) and now I’m stuck between two schools-- Illinois Institute of Technology, and Georgia Tech. ANYWAY. To help me decide, I was wondering if any current students could tell me more about how the professors like to teach, what types of projects or homework are given, office hours for teachers, or how readily available they are; things like that. Class size is important, and whether the classes are more lecture based, or if students are expected to contribute. Really, anything you can tell me about how classes are at Georgia Tech will be extremely helpful. If you happen to know about both Goergia and Illinois, that’d be great too! Thanks, and for reference, I’m planning on being a Chemical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering major.

Also! Is doing a minor as well common? I really want to learn more about business, or continue learning more about math (LOVE MATH) which seems to end at Differential Eqns in the Chemical Engineering major, and I’m taking that class now. It won’t transfer (of course) but I would like to learn new math concepts while I’m working on ChE. Anyway, thanks in advance to anyone who responds!

@Lambchoppi6 : Tell them what type of teaching you like. These are universities so teaching will vary widely by professor. They could direct you to different instructors for certain courses based on your preferences. As for your math question. ChemE only REQUIRES you go up to Diff. Eq, you can do whatever the hell else you want with your education. They have a big serious math department with many other interesting things for you to indulge in.

That makes sense I suppose haha. I currently attend a school with only two professors in the math department, for example, so I’m not used to having options. So I would actually have time to take classes other than in my major? I was worried I wouldn’t have an opportunity to do that. Do you attend Georgia Tech by the way?
