I would appreciate if someone who’s at/has gone to UCF answer some of these questions.
How big are freshman classes?
Is it hard to get into certain classes?
Are there a lot of parties?
Do students mostly walk to class or bike?
Do you ever feel lost or lonely because the school is so big?
Is there a lot if student pride (football games)?
I have not visited the campus yet but am planning to sometime in March. I have been accepted for Fall 2017 but am still hesitant if I want to go here. I plan on majoring in hospitality.
Thanks for the help. Feel free to include any personal experiences!
@nygiatsn80 You are majoring in hospitality? You are in the MT major forum. MT stands for musical theatre. So perhaps you could find the hospitality major section. You might get a better response.
This is one of the largest Universities in the country and they take only 8/8 into their MT program…And you don’t see much written about it anywhere. Honestly, I think they should do better than that.
@missnypizza By “better than that” do you mean having more written about it or do you mean their admit number is too small for a lesser known program?
@grayhairedman I just felt that for such a large university in a very culturally diverse city where many in-state students are trying to get in, they could expand just a bit on their program numbers. What is the harm in letting 25-30 new MT students in? I think TheatreUCF is a very good program…I live in Florida so I know. But many people don’t think of UCF when they are considering MT programs outside of Florida. Maybe that will change…so yes I meant their admit number is too small. My D was admitted to UCF and not the program - not even re-directed to BA theatre. She has theatre experience all over town, so to speak, in school and the community and I guess in a way, I’m bitter that I have to pay out-of-state tuition when she would have been perfectly happy to study there.
