As an incoming freshman, I decided to take these classes, and I was wondering if anyone has already taken them, and has any advice on them, or if any freshman are taking them as well!

Thanks!

SPN 1130 Beginning Spanish 1
ANT 2410 Cultural Anthropology
FOS 2001 Man's Food
MAC 1105 College Algebra

Honestly, unless you’re not very good at understanding math and it’s concepts, you should at LEAST start out with MAC1140. If you were able to get into UF i think you should be able to handle that course.

Trust me, I’m still kicking myself for not bypssing the whole mac1140/1147 thing altogether and instead going straight to calculus.

really? I just wondered because honestly I despise math and I’m a history and anthropology major so I only have to take two math courses one is general math which is my college algebra and the other is stats which i’ll probably take either in the summer or next fall

Oh well if that’s your major and you only require two math classes then go ahead with your plan : ).

However, make sure you look at the actual number of math credits you’ll need. I’m not sure how many credits you need, but i’m pretty sure college algebra only counts as 2 maybe 3 credits.

edit: just checked. it’s 3 :P

but yea; man’s food is insanely easy, and you should be able to get through college algebra fine :P.

i took general anthropology; not sure how cultural will work out though.

My roommate took Man’s Food, the main thing is that there can be spurts of intense busy work. He usually was on autopilot but then would have to spend like 8 hours one night catching up on worthless work.

I registered for cultural anthropology, and there were like 2 essays, 3 in class tests, and a cultural analysis. I walked out after I heard that, and dropped the class later in the day (switched to applied anthropology, much nicer). My roommates took it, and they just had 3 online tests, so I guess it depends who you get.
