Ok, so I'm not in the honors program, and know that they get priority enrollement. So, if I want to take classes like chem 14a, pediatric cardiology or life science 1, do I even stand a chance to enroll if I sign up on time?!

Chem 14A Yes
LS1- Chances are low
Pediatric Cardiology? Is that a Fiat Lux?

honestly, I don't know. a student PMed me her classes... btw, why do I have a low chance of getting to LS1? is it because I'm not "honors"? lame.

are you a freshman? if so, the best way to ensure you get the classes you want is to get a really early orientation session.

yep I'm going to be a freshman. so do i just sign up for the earliest session?!

@mrspam: yes i think it is a fiax.

i think its unfair. i was just 20 something points away from the stupid honors program! UGH!

peds cardio is amazing!!

cali- STOP BEATING YOURSELF UP OVER HONORS.

none of the freshmen who made it in to college honors have any advantage over you for fall enrollment. first quarter enrollment depends entirely on your orientation session!!!!

that said, some classes increase enrollment caps as the summer progresses to be fair to students with late orientations. but earlier is generally better.

in june you will be able to use the my.ucla class planner function and watch as returning students fill up classes ;) (then you'll have a more accurate sense of what schedules are likely)

also, if you're that frustrated over not getting into honors, then get a 3.5 your first quarter in at least 12 graded units, and apply. you won't be missing out on much other than a quarter of priority.

do you even get priority going into fall? i think all you need to do is attend the early orientations and you should be fine, I attended the first orientation last summer and got all the classes I needed with the schedule i wanted, no need for backups...

priority doesn't apply in the fall, whether honors or GE cluster

and really, don't bother planning your classes out now. wait til the summer after everyone else has signed up so you know which ones are even open. there might be some catalog changes, too.

most Fiat Luxes also change every quarter.

yep, just go for an earliest orientation session possible since that's when you sign up for classes.

sweet jesus... enjoy the rest of your senior year... slack off a bit but not too much and that sort. trust me... it'll only get worse from here. :( :(

hahaha thanks everyone!
@mme-lin: whaa? I thought college was fun :. AH! are you premed? haha

^ she used to be premed ;)

mme-lin: why u gotta be such downer

what the ****? i was never pre-med liyana. hell, i dont even like my current major that much. some days i'm english. some days im french. . . comparative lit? phil? something-ridiculously-useless-but-makes-you-read-a-lot? it's hard to choose. it's like my major wins by default. -_-;

i didnt mean it that badly. college is fun. . . but yknow, youre in and gonna go to a good school next year . . . no sense worrying...

...YET!!!!

I want to see a thread where calitennisgirl and dwm duke it out, with the most trivial, pre-meddy questions.

It'll be like, the most annoying thread on CC. EVER. Nobody will remember ireignnsn or fastMED or henry in a year. dwm is still talked about. HAHAHAHAHA

DWM still comes around, but mme scares her away! :(
You can be so mean sometimes mme, but that's part of your charm.

GOOD !!!

I think everyone who contributed to a funny, embarrassing, or "obvious answer" post deserves to be remembered.

Can't forget ...
