classes for senior year?

i'm trying to get into HYPSM, and I'm wondering if my schedule is rigorous enough.

here's this year (junior year)
1)religion (mandatory)
2)US 1 Honors
3)AP Bio Pt.1
4)AP English III
5)Calculus Honors
6)AP English IV (doubled up with block scheduling)
7)AP Bio Pt. 2
8)Spanish 3 honors

I have a decent grade in spanish, a 93, but its definitely a weak area for me and i don't think i'd do well in spanish four... will this knock me out of the running for the top schools?

my schedule senior year
1)Science and Religion College Level
2)US II H
3)Computer Science Honors
4)Psychology AP
5)English/Lang AP
6)Astronomy Honors
7)BLANK
8)BLANK

Okay, i don't know whether to take Physics AP-B or World History AP, I'm not allowed to take both... and is this schedule rigorous enough for senior year?

I have for high school:
4 Years of English
6 Years of Math
6-7 Years of Science (i have block scheduling.. might be 7 if i take physics ap)
4-6 Years of Social Sciences (if i take world ap)
4 Years of Religion (mandatory)
2 Years of Gym (mandatory)
3 Years of Spanish (bad?)

Thank you :)

For very selective colleges your senior schedule seems light – too many electives and not enough core courses. Perhaps you don’t have the option to make it more rigorous.

First I recommend that you take the 4th year of Spanish. Depth in one language is a major plus for the very selective colleges. They require 3 years, and recommend four (or more) years of a single foreign language.

Since AP physics is available to you, take it – in place of other science courses such as astronomy. Not knowing the level of your junior year calculus, and what’s available to you it’s hard to say whether you can take a second calculus course – at the AP BC level. If you can, then take that together with physics.

the problem im having is that with the block scheduling i can only take certain classes at certain times… there is only one ap physics class, and it runs at the same time as world history ap…

what if im destined to fail spanish 4? hhahah im god awful at spanish…

mandatory classes include:

  1. religion
    2 )us II H

and the rest i can do whatever i want. here are some problems though:

world ap and physics ap run the same period
ap calc and ap psych run the same period

calc, world, and physics run all year but psych ap runs half the year, so i could fit another class in if i wanted… idk what to do!

I definitely recommend doing a fourth year of Spanish.

If the blank spots are free periods (rather than after-school periods), you should fill those. Colleges aren’t going to want to see that you did nothing for two out of eight periods.

the blank periods are for either world ap or physics ap-b, i’m just not sure which one to take…

i’m really scared i wont be able to handle the fourth year, foreign language is so hard for me to understand, do you think that automatically cuts me off to get into top schools like HYPS?
