Just have a few questions for fellow huskies:
Is anyone attending the Discovery Seminars? Is it worth it? Will we receive a grade or just credits (P/F)?
Anyone rushing next year? Is there anything we have to do prior to beginning of classes, i.e. applications, sign up for interviews, etc. ?
Anyone know what classes they're planning to register for first quarter? Any current students or alumni have advice on which classes to take? Easy/Hard?

I’m an incoming freshman at UW. I don’t know much about classes, but I do know quite a bit about greek life (well frats at least). I just signed/joined one last week, after visiting several. Rush is informal, meaning you can join at any time, but most of the rushing occurs this summer. If you go to the UW IFC website, you can sign up for the recruitment list. When you do that you will get a bunch of calls from different frats. At that point it is up to you to go and take tours and hang out with the guys from different houses. Eventually, they might offer you and opportunity to join.

From my experience, there was a huge range between the different houses, but everyone was great.

so i can’t tell if you’re a guy or girl (sorry if its obvious i just cant figure it out haha) but if you’re a girl rushing then it is formal and you can go to the uw panhellenic website to register for it, its from september 12-19 and there are a lot more regulations than the fraternities have. i’m rushing, just throwing that out there haha so again sorry i couldn’t figure out if you’re a guy or girl but it doesnt say on here haha

coug45-just curious, what house did you sign with? i know a bunch of people up there and guys who are rushing and signing right now

I registered for the General Writing class but so many students did as well that I was unable to get a spot and am currently on the waitlist. So, I opted to take the Fictional Writing course in lieu of the other Writing class, hopefully I get off the waitlist though because the general class appeals much more to me.

haha dude please don’t call it UWash. my friends back in Ohio do that and it’s so annoying. Say U-Dub. type UW if you want, but just don’t say UWash. don’t mean to diss you, but nobody calls it UWash here lol
