One of my teachers told us that we are the only school (maybe in our county) that does not make you come into school on an AP test day, until the test itself. So we can come to school late or leave early and its excused. Does anybody else's school do this...or is it just my school?

Our school frowns upon it, but they won't make a big fuss over it.

If we leave early/come late our school counts it as a cut. :(

Our school system allows if you have an exam in the morning, you can leave right after the exam and it doesn't count against you in terms of absence.
If your exam is in the afternoon, you can come right before that exam.

Basically, we don't have to come to class on the day of exam, but we aren't excused from the work missed, just the absence.

If you stay at school though and don't leave after exam, they make you go to class.

after the ap test, my school doesn't make us come back to classes. we take our tests at a different site(with the exception of a few tests), and even if the test is given at our school, we can still go home or do what we want. the ap test counts kind of as school for us.

I got tons of homework due tommorow- i have been doing HW instead of studying for ap's ughhhh frustrating
wish teachers would give us no HW this week gosh!!! It's really driving me nuts- I wish to get some sleep BADLY heavy sleep deprivation...oh gosh this is fun in a sick and twisted way
300th post YEAAA!!!!!

My school is the same. We take the test at school. We're supposed to get there a few minutes before the test starts, and we leave as soon as it's over.

we have to goto school the morning of the tests if after noon and return to school after the tests.

What a joke in public education, lets not reward kids for being dedicated to take worthless tests graded by crusty old men.

I don't have to go to school 3 days this week because I have excused absenses from the ap exams! yes! im going to be behind in my non-ap classes but oh well haha

My school does the same thing. Furthermore, for IB students at our school, we get the entire month of May off.

We don't have to go to school on AP test days, beginning this year. Last year we did.

your teacher lied. we do it too.

I think the teacher meant in your district or something.

Our school is very lax about attendance on AP test day, and most teachers are fine if we don't go to classes we have after the test. Basically the whole two weeks around APs are spent doing nothing.

I am totally looking forward to summer after all this work =)

darn. i did it last year, but a bunch of my teachers got ****ed. my school only does it if the teacher encourages you to - which none of my teachers have done so far.

still gonna ditch tho. your hand needs rest after a 4 hour long test!

I dont have school on the 6th, the day of my test, so Im just going on my own anyway

if u've got ap test on a certain day, u're excused from all classes that day :)

we used to be able to go only for the test, but it chenged 2 or 3 years ago. We need the funding based on attendance. Most 0 period teachers do excuse students taking morning tests as 30 minutes of that period is murdered. our school, like other schools, are mean like this. Just what I need, going to four classes, stress out about those, and then take an AP test... O fun...

excused from classes that day, but not any assigned HW.

we dont do anything... but yeah, we are excused.

my ap spanish exam basically went until 6th period.... which is around 1:30pm

we dont have school thursday and friday but we have to go to classes after...or before...also seniors have to take their finals the same day as the ap's
