I'm a freshman, and for my first 2 quarters I took 3 classes each. When should I start choosing 4 classes per quarter?

I'm a comm studies major btw.

I would say, take however many classes you’re comfortable with… otherwise, 3 isn’t bad… i think… i;m still doing 3.

I would do as many as you’'re allowed

you are paying a lot of cash for them

Well, you say you are a comm studies major but you have to apply for that major after you complete 45 ucla units so you’re actually undeclared right now, right? So in order to keep your gpa up, which is the main thing they will look at on your app., I would stick with 3 or make sure if you take 4 that a couple are a little easier. I have heard getting into comm. studies is very difficult and you need at least a 3.7 or 3.8 to even have a chance.

If this is my last quarter and i only need 10 units to graduate, is it ok to only enroll in 10 units, or will I be breaking some rule I don’t know about?!

you’ll be a part time student, so if you have fin. aid, might be a problem.

Call financial aid and ask about your case. In my case, enrolling in 6 units was enough to maintain all my aid. The school said that your aid would only be decreased if you were given a CAL grant. I was not given any cal grants so none of my aid would be reduced.

I don’t have fin. aid. But will I be getting in some kind of trouble? I will have over 180 units and all requirements done to graduate. thanks for your reply!!

Nah, no problem academic-wise. Maybe a problem for not being a full-time student for other purposes though (in addition to finaid).

What other purposes?!

Car insurance or health insurance are other purposes. Some get discounts for being a full time student. I do!
