Classes per term

What are your suggestions on how many classes I should take per term? I'm in the college of arts and sciences and am planning on a biology major.

I'd say the average number of credits per sem is usually 15-17... something like that, depending on the difficulty of the courses you're choosing. The number of courses you take depends on what kind they are... most courses are 3 credits, but many that have labs are more (for example, chemistry is 5). As a result, if you have a lot of courses with labs, you might end up taking 4 classes/semester instead of 5.

You need 120 credits to graduate, so that'd be 15 per semester. Of course, you can factor in credits you transfer in, and loading on more courses one semester to lighten up another. I have a friend in engineering who's a freshman, but transfered in enough credits to be at the level of a second semester sophmore come next semester.
