Not sure how many people might remember my posts but I am a Fall 2009 transfer to GS. I tried searching the board for more information regarding this but couldn't find too much.

It's my understanding that my registration takes place during the Academic Planning Session. However, is there a way for me to gauge what the recommendations for courses might be? I was searching for a major/general requirements planning sheet for my major/graduation requirements (History) to see if this might help but couldn't find one. Maybe I missed it. I will (hopefully) have sophomore/junior status when I start there due to credits that will be transferring over. I have a session scheduled for next week.

I have searched the Directory of Classes but find it to be cumbersome to search and it doesn't give me too much hope for fitting in the credits that I need in order to maintain a scholarship that they gave me. Does anyone know of other options available, or have an idea? Options so far don't look too promising because my schedule is tight due to my job -- not as many evening courses, didn't see any weekend courses. Am I wrong?

I'm currently in the process of trying to work out an alternate schedule with my employer but don't feel that I can move forward with the process without having a better idea as to some of the classes that I might have to take. Ideally, I can work this out prior to the session next week.

I guess my questions are these: What are the classes that are typically recommended for GS transfers to take? Are there specific Core requirements that you have to fulfill when you first start or do new transfers have more freedom with regards to class scheduling?

Or if anything, can current students let me know windows of hours during the day that options for classes are the most readily available? (Example: A lot of classes are usually held between 1pm-3pm)

I suppose you could just tell me to "Suck it up!" and wait till next week but I am itching to get this schedule thing taken care of and my employer needs to know what I can and can't do. I'd like to have my schedule at work for September set before I register due to the business needs of the company while setting up appropriate windows of time to schedule classes.

I sent an email to Admissions. I hope I hear back soon. I would appreciate any input that CC posters have, especially those who transferred to GS.

Thanks,
