Classes that are two periods

Anyone taking a two-period, or 1 1/2 period class? (Usually AP Bio/ AP Chem...)

Will colleges know that these classes were two periods long? I don't want them to think I took an off-hour.

anyone...?

yeah, on my transcript it says 1.5 credits (ap physics, chem and bio are double-blocked on A days and single blocked on B alternating days)

like doubles? everything is 2 credits that's a year long at our school.
for double periods... every ap has a 2-hour double period a week(as does all science classes). AP Sciences have 2 2- hour doubles a week

We have double periods only for science, so this year AP bio is double.

AP Bio, Chem, and Physics all last 70 minutes (as opposed to 45), meaning the students only get 25 minutes for lunch. The scheduling czars did me a GIGANTIC favor and scheduled my free period to run right after that. Since my free is also a lunch period, I get 70 minutes of lunch. Huzzah.

Im taking AP Chem and our class is 2 periods long. Im pretty sure that colleges will know that the course is two periods long for you, i think it is somehow indicated on your transcript.

seems that mostly science courses are double. mine are too. ap chem was fun, but not quite.

yeh last year AP chem was two-blocks and this year AP Physics C is two-blocks as well.

well all AP sciences at my school are 2 periods with probably next year the exception of AP Computer Science. then again that class may be seen as a math class.

Bio H, Chem, Chem H, Physics, Physics H, Human Anatomy, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC all have 20-minute extensions into lunch every four days, so they're all 6 credits.

AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and ToPhy (the equivalent of AP Physics) each extend into your study hall with this weird rotating system that I'm not going to go into here... Anyway, they're each seven credits. And when you go on a science high and take both AP Bio and Chem, you have no study hall every other day and half a study hall on the other days.

If the colleges have any questions about the rigor of your curriculum, they can ask your GC. They tend to know that science is often a double-period class, I would think. My son's physics AP class last year was a 2 period class (60+ labs that year); this year it's a single period class. I wouldn't stress about it, but you can mention it in your college ap or essay if you're concerned.

I think we only have double bloack for half-year classes. So like you could cover two years worth of material in one year. But I don't think we any full year double block or like fractional block classes. All our AP classes are single-block, except for maybe calculus (but I don't think so, since it's AB)

2 periods for AP Bio

2 periods for math and english (45mins each)
