Classes that satisfy at least three requirements each:

World Musics & Cultures satisfies the Arts & Letters Sector, Cross-Cultural Analysis, and Cultural Diversity in the US, while still sounding like a really interesting/fun class.

Any other classes out there that satisfy three? Or more than three? No, I won't take a class just because of that, but if I find it interesting then I'd go for it.

World Musics & Cultures is currently closed, though. :(

“Cross-Cultural Analysis, and Cultural Diversity in the US” are both foundational approaches.

you can’t satisfy two foundational approaches with a single course.

“This means that the Quantitative Data Analysis, Formal Reasoning and Analysis, Cross Cultural Analysis, and Cultural Diversity in the U.S. and Language Requirements must all be fulfilled using distinct courses.”

I took World Music as a freshman. Great class. It’s easy to find courses that double count so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Unless you’re in a really rigid program you have plenty of room to not needing stuff to double count.

hey Venkat Im also interested in taking this course but like Sugar above said PennInTouch says the class is closed. Any reason why this may be? I was under the impression that the system doesnt start registering people for classes until Advance Registration ends. So shouldn’t the class still be open until that time??

Wow, that sucks… really? It definitely says in more than one place that that class satisfies all three. Do you just choose which Foundational Approach you want to fulfill?

Haha and alright, I’ll calm down about the double-counting, but it DOES feel nice.

azn4eyes00: It may be closed because upperclassman have already registered for classes. Freshmen are not registered for classes until the end of their advance registration period but upper classman can add/drop classes at the moment.

It’ll be easy to get the class second semester when you’re on more even footing with upperclassmen. Also, people will drop the class in September, so you can always get it then.

Music 50 is a very popular class since it’s known to be not that difficult, really interesting, and efficient (i.e. it double-counts).

Even the most popular classes open up in the first two weeks of September as people reconfigure their schedules when they get to campus.
