i just started planning for my senior year in high school and want to major in graphic design later. so should i take more art classes to get a better background in my element or take more math and science to get into the colleges i want, cause with my school, i only have 3 elective spaces to fill.

Take drawing, AP studio drawing and photography.

thanks, i was thinking about taking those, but wasnt sure

Does your HS offer graphic design courses as well? Also, build up your portfolio by designing posters, programs, ads, even tickets, etc., for school events and publications, e.g., newspaper, yearbook, because that will be the crux of your admission. S took graphic design courses during his four years and a drawing class senior year at his HS. He did take an honors math course and physics his senior year. He's now a senior in graphic design.

Make sure that you've fulfilled all the academic requirements (and then some) to get into whichever competitive schools are on your list. Good luck!

yea, my school does offer a graphic design course, but i was thinking about taking statistics instead because i really want to get into Berkeley. my schedule is already full with other requirments i need so its either graphic design or statistics.

From what I understand, some colleges don't consider statistics a "true" math course. Also, you may want to consider looking at UCLA for graphic design as well--that's where my S is.

UCLA is on my list, but i really want Berkeley. they take into consideration senior year classes, and considering that my new classes will be mostly art classes that i need, i dont really know my chances for Berkeley. so thats why i thought i should take statistics, even though i already have honors algebra II with me.
