I’m a second semester freshman and registration for fall sophomore semester classes are coming up soon at URochester (major is Audio Engineering).
I’m having trouble deciding on what last class to add for next semester. Should I be focusing on more technical electives right now or would you recommend taking a humanities class (such as a Baudlaire class all in French)? Thanks for the help!
These types of questions are highly personal and depend on where you are in your curriculum. Most engineering curricula get pretty tech heavy and difficult. It’s nice to have some balance. You do that by selectively choosing when to do your GEs. The question you asked really needs LOTS more context for anyone to give you sound advice. At the end of the day, it’s really personal preference.
Have you asked an advisor at your school? Audio engineering is a very unusual discipline and it is unlikely that many (any?) people around here will be familiar with its intricacies and idiosyncrasies. You are better off seeking advice from someone you know has familiarity with the program.
