Hi, I'm going to be a Chemistry major at Berkeley. Which classes would a normal Chemistry major freshman take? For my planned class schedule, I chose Chem 4A, English R1A, Chemistry C96, and Math 1A.

I'm just curious as to the normal classes a freshman would take.

And also, another question:

Is there ANY way to sign up for a full CalSO date? I thought I had already signed up, but it turns out I didn't. The sad thing is I already bought the plane tickets and everything...

Thanks for any replies!

GO BEARS!

Hey, I'm a Chem major too!

Go to this link: http://chemistry.berkeley.edu/ugrad_info/publications/chem_07-08.pdf

On page 24 you can start reading about the Chem program and on page 26 you can see course requirements and an example of a typical schedule.

As for CalSO, I had exactly the same problem. I read through the CalSO information on the Berkeley website to find a phone number. I called the number and talked to someone, and she helped me get into the full CalSO date. Hopefully this helps :P

Call and tell them that you already have everything set up for the specific date!!! Do it fast!!! They will most likely give you the allowance because of your situation. However, the sooner you do it, the better. People usually rescind their spots for whichever reason. So, there's a likelihood of you getting in.

How did you miss signing up?? You needed to pay on the spot to do so. It's pretty straight forward.

Oh, and for your classes. I was recommended english, math, major prerq, and breadth prereq, plus any college req.

Thanks guys! I'll let you guys know how it goes!

I got the spot! Thanks guys!
