Classes without a discussion portion.

Hi everyone,

I'm a newly admitted transfer student for the fall. I'm looking to take some summer classes yet I'm new to the whole university set up.

I have noticed that many classes have both a lecture and discussion section which you sign up for.

A couple of the classes I'm looking at seem to have only a lecture portion however. Yet if you click on the catalog description it will say something like "Six hours of lecture and two hours of discussion for eight weeks." This seems kinda contradictory. Can someone help me here? Am I just reading too much into this. Are there some classes that simply do not have a discussion portion.

Thanks.

hm what class are you looking at?

As a side comment, some classes don’t list discussion sections and you pick the first day of class…

8888888888,

I was looking at HISTORY 127AC P 001 LEC… Course control number 49040. And fellow… Thank you. That is good information as well.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something before I sign up.

hm that is weird. there’s discussion sections during fall but not seen during summer.
have you tried adding the class in telebears? maybe there is not discussion section.

leftist,

Thank you for the info!
