Ok, so I'm going in as an undeclared major and I'm not at all too sure about what type of classes to take? Like I know I have to take GEs and stuff and that there is a class planner on our myucla page in which you can play around with the classes and scheduling. This might be a really dumb and broad question but I'm just really confused and stressed. What kind of classes are recommended for undeclared majors?

It depends on what type of undeclared you are. If you are undeclared, but want to go into science, then take something most science majors need, like Chem 14A/20A or Math 32A. But there’s little reason to take those classes if you’re an undeclared humanities major.

You can also take whatever sounds intriguing to you, which could spark your interest even further, leading you to take more courses in that subject and eventually majoring in it. There’s no pressure to declare a major right away, give your classes a chance and you will eventually find what you’re passionate about. Even if you are undeclared science, pair your science classes with GEs. You still have a long ways to go, you never know where your next inspiration might come from.

I’m an undeclared humanities major. I’m taking the cosmos cluster, sociology 1, and discovering romans class. Basically since I’m undeclared, I’m taking a bunch of different classes that I’m interested in but that are also GEs.
