at my school u have to be accepted to an AP class by application. for honros u just have to have the right stanines of atleas 7 on a scale of 9 and teachr recomendations.

at my school you just need a certain grade and a teacher to sign off in order to take most honors/ap's. except for ap lit. you have to make a portfolio and do a timed essay, which is annoying. i didnt get in even though ive only gotten a's in english, whereas people who have straight b's did get in. bummer

Yeah, How many classes do your HS offer?

My HS? Not that many.
basically they offer what they have to for us to pass state grad. requirements........plus a few classes like two spanish classes which are a joke, some typing classes, yearbook, speech, and athletics (baseball, basketball, and golf) we just don't have the teachers, facilities, or money to have much more....

wow at my school to move up pretty much just requires a nice note from the parents. i mean you are supposed to "apply" to the ap courses in the spring before, but it really just depends on the teacher. to move up in the english department (from "college prep" to AP or honors) does require a little writing sample, but it's nothing to be worried about.
good luck!

Masterus, i think your comment to Vigilante was rude. First, she isnt someone who gets B's and such, im pretty sure shes like number 1 in the class. And second, some classes are very difficult and getting B's is not the end of the world for getting into Harvard. I understand you're excited for high school, but you're too intense about all of it. You don't need to go to Harvard, and only 10 out of every 100 applicants get in.

It's actually 11 (trying to joke).

its actually 10.95.
