I am worried that I won't get a spot on like chem and math...I checked the classes that I need to take for my first quarter, and I found out some classes are almost full already. For example, chem 1a have 3 classes, and 2 of them already full and all chem 1al is full as well only except one class left open. So does math3c, only has 22 spots left...
Am I worrying too much? since we freshman will register classes in orientation and will the returning students just take away all the spots.

dont worry about it now since there is nothing you can do about it.

There are spots reserved for student going to orientation.

f77126: How did you find out that there are only 22 spots left in math 3c? When are you going to your orientation? Are you majoring in Chem E? I am going to session #2 and also need math 3c and chem 1.

hey!!! socalgirl, I am going on session #2 as well. Yes I am gonna be doing chemE. If you want to check the spots at classes check the "gold" in UCSB and go on the yellow tab says " Schedule of Classes", then type in the class you want then it would show the spots left. But according to UCSBstud949, there are spots reserved for orientation. I hope to see you at the orientation then. :)

How did you count that there were only 22 spots left in Math 3C? I just looked on GOLD and I saw about 140 open spots. There were 60 spots in Chem 1A and 23 spaces in Chem 1AL.

I suspect that you guys (and gals) don't know how to use GOLD. It seems to me that you are searching for classes in Spring 2006 instead of in Fall 2006.

Don't worry, it will take some time before you learn how to use GOLD. There is a learning curve to it and you'll learn about it soon enough.

well i think they just added another class for math, yes i might not be very good in gold since I am new student, but i can pretty sure what i saw before.

They are holding spaces for freshman during summer orientation. No need to panic about your classes yet.
