I'll be a freshman next year and if anyone could recommend any classes I should take/not take that would be great. I don't want to be overwhelmed my first semester but I don't want to take too little either. I think I'm gonna be a business finance major if that helps.

try to get some of your pre recs out of the way early. if you don't have AP credit, you will have to take first year english so plan on that. everyone is also required to take a freshman seminar either in the fall or spring (there are more options in the fall). since you are business you should probably take calc your first or second year seeing as the b school expects you to i think. make sure to balance your schedule though. you don't want to be overwhelmed in your first semester of college.

The Emory website says...
"Every freshman will complete either English 101 or 181 or Comparative Literature 110".

Am I to understand that with a 4 or 5 on the AP English test, you pass out of this requirement?

yes, you are correct. a four or five on the ap language or liturature exams will get you out of first year english. you may use credit from either one but not both, meaning that you cannot recieve credit for both and get out of another english class etc.
