I'm thinking about becoming a classics major and I was wondering how the classics program at Hopkins stacks up against other top classics schools (Brown, UChicago, etc.)

Thanks

Not going to comment on how our Classics program compares to programs at other schools - that is a comparison that you will need to make on your own. What I can let you know if that Classics at Hopkins is one of our stronger and more well known program in the Humanities. The faculty and research opportunities in the area are exceptional. The department is small enough that you will be able to have personal relationships with the faculty, and they will provide you with extensive assistance in furthering your studies beyond the classroom.

Learn more about the Classics Department here: http://www.jhu.edu/%7Eclassics/. (Consider contacting some of the faculty if you have specific questions.)

Also, read this Guest Blog written by a senior Classics major at Hopkins: http://hopkins.typepad.com/guest/2006/01/ive_been_in_bal.html

Thanks a lot.
