Classics at Wesleyan

I just got an e-mail from Michael Roberts because I indicated my interest to be Classics. For current students, how is the department? What about compared to other LACs, such as, say, Macalester or Carleton? What about quality of the faculty?

Thanks.

Since no other answers are forthcoming, I will try to answer as a dad of a former Wes student- he double majored, classics was one of the majors. The Dept. is very small. I beleive he had an Ancient Greek Language class for 3 years with either three or two or one other student. He also had the opportunity to help work on a Beowulf textbook in a workshop setting. He is currently in grad school at a very good school and was well prepared to take on the work. One of his professors mentored him considerably during the grad school search and application process.
