Classics Major

Can anyone think of a NE school (or near there) that has a great classics dept? GPA, tests and extra-curriculars aren't really a problem, but scholarships would be nice

There's plenty. Would you prefer a suburban college like Bowdoin or a college in a bustling metropolis like Penn? Would you prefer the 50,000 students of Penn State or the 1200 of Haverford? More info yields better suggestions.

I've got kick-ass legacy at Bowdoin, but I'd like something out of ME, but a small college is a total must

Heh, choices… thanks sooooooooo much

If you want a school with an amazing Classics Dept take a look at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. My daughter is a sophmore Classics major there. Work is tough but doable. I believe it's the largest Classics dept anywhere with Harvard PhD's for professors. Go on the Holy Cross website for scholarship info.
Good Luck

Thanks! I've gotten info from them, but never really checked it out… I'll make sure to now though!
