Classmates Applying to the Same Top 30 Universities?!

I'm a bit concerned about the likelihood of being accepted to a top university, if other students from my high school are as well. I know a girl in my AP Studio Art Class who is applying to USC through their Art Program and I am applying to USC as a recruited athlete. Is there a chance that colleges could accept students within the same high school?

Schools often accept multiple students from the same high school, and often accept lower-ranked students while rejecting higher-ranked students.

That said, most highly selective schools won’t take boatloads of applicants from the same school.

As a recruited athlete, you’re already extremely likely to get in, so I wouldn’t be worrying about competition from the same school.

I wouldn’t worry if I were you. Three people were admitted to Cornell from my school in just the early round alone. I anticipate that there will be even more acceptances in the regular round.

Chill out bro, chill out.
