Classmates constantly call me for homework help. How do I block them on my phone?

the conventional home phone connected by wire

So you have no caller ID? Why do you answer the phone if you are busy and don't want to deal with them???

I dont think its possible unless you call your phone company.

isnt it just easier to tell your classmates to stop bothering you when you work? I'm guessing this is a recurring action and not a one time thing....confront them, period.

If you don't care about your reputation you can tell them to go f*** themselves. But if you care about your reputation you can explain to them as nciely as possible about how you don't like them calling you about homework since you have a busy life and cannot always answer their questions. Also, give them the phone number of someone else. :)

I'd just get caller ID.

Start charging to answer questions. (First 3 questions are free, but then they have to pay $.25 per question. OR, they can get a month pass for $20)

You're being too nice. If their only interaction with you is to ask you for hw help, tell them to fck off. It seems that they are comfortable in calling you daily, which fosho isn't a good sign.

Wow, I've called people for help before. Okay, maybe twice in my HS career - but still.
I suggest telling them you start homework at a crazy hour so they won't bother you :)

I like GoldShadow's idea. Except make it a dollar a question and $50 for a monthly pass (Answering questions for $.25 a question just isn't worth it).

Charging is a good idea.

Or tell them to a) pay attention in class or b) ask a teacher because that's their job. One of my friends got into the bad habit of never doing homework and asking me first period for the homework for third period...I told her to try doing it herself at home for once.

say your grounded from the phone

naa, sounds to fake. charge 'em! i used to sell latin translations for 10 bucks a pop. made some $$ until i got caught. if they bully you, then.... err....

be like, OH MY GOD MY SISTER JUST SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTED! I'lLL CALL YOU BACK! AHHHHH GOD!!!!!

then when the next [and next and next and next...] person calls just be like, "wahhhhhhhh, jaaaanniieeeee i miisssssss youuuuuu...."

it'll work for you for at least 4 months.

LOL thats hilarious rachel212 HAHAHAH, you should try it jsut to see what your classmates say....it be fun to record their reaction

you are the biggest loser ever... i make fun of kids like you all the time

And I stomp on kids like you^.

Yeah you're being too nice buddy
This happened with me, and I tried to be nice. But he wouldn't stop, all he cared about was for his stupid A that he didnt want to even study for, and expected me to study and then let him cheat.
He found my cell phone # somehow and started calling me when I told him I didn't have time to help him in school . . . talk about a stalker, I tried just not answering when he phoned, no, didnt work.

so i had to confront him.
and i just did, once during the quiz, the teacher left for a minute, and he said "hey sarah, the teacher's gone . ."

"hey, great for him."

"so you're not gonna help me??? PLEASE SARAH > . .PLEASE please, if I get a B my parents will be so mad . . please just this one more time. "

"no, sorry john*, you should've studied like the rest of us, I mean I sat and watched the videos, everyone else did too."

and the class is like "OHHHHH" .. and then the teacher came back and that was that.

sure he was mad at me and didn't talk to me for about a week, but soon he realized that he would just have to study, after everyone else refused to help him. He tries to act so tough any other time, and then when it's quiz time, he's practically on his knees. it's pathetic.

don't waste your time with them. they won't help you if you're ever in need.
if they're still very desperate, say that you'll offer tutoring for a price.

Either a. get caller ID, or b. Explain to them nicely that you simply don't have time to answer their questions and tell them to either get a tutor or ask the teacher.

c. Don't answer the phone!

Don't let them walk all over you like that! :)

then stomp on kids u dont want calling u
