Classmates constantly call me for homework help. How do I block them on my phone?

i had the same problem with a classmate of mine, little cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater. i just started ignoring her and she finally got the message and never bothered me again.

wow you people know nothing about sharing and helping other people! if you don't help people, don't expect anything when you need it

Just politely let them know over the phone that you're a bit busy. I always do that when I don't have the time. Give them the phone number of someone else in your class that might be able to help them out. This isn't that big of a problem. Unless these people are being stalkers, the caller ID and blocking ideas are pretty much unnecessary.

since you are having trouble confronting this problem........you might consider recording an outgoing message about the fact that you are no longer offering tutoring.......your sorry that your aren't and then don't answer your phone. All of your "friends" will call and hear your recording which means you don't have to get up the courage and keep the conviction for each individual.

Start charging to answer questions. (First 3 questions are free, but then they have to pay $.25 per question. OR, they can get a month pass for $20)

thats not a bad idea, but it might spread around teh school and your teacher may think you are helping others cheat. jsut tell them to stop bothering you.

reeze, there's a difference between sharing and helping, and taking advantage of nice people. the op already feels bothered by incessant calls from "friends". if someone was truely my friend, i would help them without hesitation.

even if your friend was using you????

1) Blacklist yourself from any directories
2) Never talk to them again
3) Be cold any time one tries to come up to you for anything
4) Find a new group of people to hang with; you are being used and owned
5) If they start bullying you, start working on the valuables

My family couldn't live without caller id. I can't even remember not having it. We all have a habit of running upstairs to find 1 of our 8 caller id thingys because we always lose the other 7 and can't bear to answer without knowing who it is.

funny. ppl call me for hmk. i call others for hmk. fair enough.

I don't think you should have to spend $ to get a caller id just cause OTHER people are bothering you.

Maybe you can screen your calls by leaving a message on your answering machine like if you want help, please don't call me at home... IM me when i'm online or something.....

I always IM intelligent people online and ask for help.... okay, well, I usually ask what the hw is, but yesterday I actually really needed help help.... so I asked this kid who's a genius. He's a nice kid........ spent an hour "helping me" but it wasn't all that easy like oh I'm going to help you. Smart people - they have to make things a little harder for the rest of us so they can have a little fun. Well anyways, so this kid decides to talk to me/answer all of my questions in French (which also added to the 1 hr factor) and made me think of the answer myself well guiding me. I mean if it weren't 11 PM I might've had more fun trying to figure out the answer (yes, I'm a dork, lol).
Anyways... when people ask YOU for help, you get to make the calls on HOW to help them. =)
