Clauses

Jane yearns for a change in her life because she has grown tired of the same routine that she follows everyday.

Is the dependent clause of that sentence after "because"?

Not sure, but I think if you include the conjunction (“because”), it would be a dependent clause. To be more specific, it would be an adverbial clause. Another example of an adverbial clause would be (in italics): I went there when I was in New York. It describes the conditions of the independent clause’s verb(s) (when, why, etc.) All adverbial clauses are dependent of the verb. Thus, all adverbial clauses are dependent clauses.

^ Yes, that’s right. If you have additional questions about clauses, I would be happy to answer them.

Thank you gentlemen.
