I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the smell of vomit from a couch, pillows, and carpet? There was a cover on the couch, so I'm just washing that in the washing machine. Is that okay? Can small pillows be put in the washing machine? Is there any cleaning product that I can use to remove the smell? Will it gradually go away on its own?

febreze! blah

one thing about washing pillows in washers:

95% of the time, they'll get lumpy.

My grandma washes her pillows once a week....and wow...she'll be buying new ones like once a month, within that first wash, they're destroyed

-personal experience....just wash them by hand. Its not the water that makes them lumpy....its the twisting and stuff in the machine.

washing the covers, yeah, thats fine...as long as the tag says so.

also, not that this is necessicairily relevant here... NEVER wash a chinellle (*sp) throw. That sucker will be gone.

Totally agree with helpmegetin, Febreze will cover anything.

...I suppose thats the, average college students way of looking at it.

I would never wash a pillow!

You can clean its surface really well...

then spray it with pine sol...

and put it in the dryer...

no offense to the granny of sanluisfreak

For the carpet, you should steam clean it. And put a little essence in there, like some perfume oil.

hey...I just learn from her mistake...

doesnt bother me any
of course, just make sure that whatever surface cleaner you use doesnt stain or reduce coloring.
