I admit it, I'm a total clearance rack fiend. Mostly when it comes to clothes, though - other clearances tend to get cleaned out of anything I would want. When I wind up at the mall for whatever reason, sometimes I'll check out the new stuff, but usually I head straight for the sale stuff since I don't buy at full price anyway. I've repeatedly gotten great deals at Express, AE, Fossil...perhaps it's just that people in my area don't buy my size much?

I take no shame in "saving" money. Honestly, I think the full prices they get away with are ridiculous...but people buy at those prices so I suppose it's all fair in the end.

No matter how much money a person has, if they can get more for less they go for it.

It may depend on your mall, etc. I'll use A&F as an example. My A&F has a ton of clearance stuff on any given day. I've gotten some great deals there, even getting 66% or more off the price sometimes. The best time to hit is the day the website is updated, they'll have a lot of stuff cheap. I went to an A&F in Canton, OH and found they also had a ton of clearance stuff, maybe more. The A&F in Youngstown matched mine in terms of clearance. However, an A&F in Florida, a store elsewhere in Pittsburgh, and one in Columbus didn't have as much. I also heard the NYC one has no clearances.

For Polo Ralph Lauren, I usually will go to the outlet. For the past two years I have been taking advantage of the "buy two" deal where you save money. I also discovered the bedding is dirt cheap at those places and it's very high quality--I've had a down comforter going for two years now that looks brand new (and it's been through the washsing machine more than a few times).

Another good source for RL and a lot of other mall brands is Marshall's. They get the old stuff from stores like Macy's and sell it really cheap. I saw polos that sell for $65 in there for $30. TJ Maxx is supposed to be similar but I haven't been there in ages so I don't know what they are offering these days. You should raid a Marshall's right after a department store moves, gets taken over, closes due to merger, etc. They will have a ton of stuff.

Even the grocery store is good for clearances. I found a scent of Lysol toilet bowl cleaner they were discontinuing last year and got it really cheap. There are other more exciting deals there sometimes as well, so if you know your favorite foods or household products are going to go by the wayside you should stock up.

Eckerd drug stores also sometimes have clearance bins. I found a five pack of CD-R's from the days when they first came out in there for a few bucks. They turned out to be gold CD-R's made by IBM and are the best discs I've ever used. I wish I could find more IBM ChoiceMedia discs. They also had a lot of floppy disks, both 3.5" and 5.25" (!) for cheap, plus stuff like pens and notebooks. If you wanted a folder from the 1997 Batman movie or something you could get that in there as well. They also had this day planner from 1991 that I was tempted to get and use the next time we have a year identical to 1991 (check the World Almanac, it will tell you when that will happen).

search sites like slickdeals..20%-60% off coupons codes

I usually only shop off the clearance rack...
and to make it worse I shop off the clearance rack at the stores at the outlet mall...
