Clearly we've been doing college tours wrong

I had a co-worker who told me “You know what is better than owning your own boat? Having a friend who owns a boat and pays for all the upkeep and insurance, the dock and the gas, and invites you out on it every weekend.”

So all you really need is a friend with a private plane.

“So all you really need is a friend with a private plane.”

I actuality have co counsel that owns his own plane and has offered but our family has had bad experiences with private planes (4 family members died in 3 different incidents) so I promised my mom long ago I’d never take one.

FWIW, I know and respect one of the quoted IECs. Nice work if you can get it!

Our friend always said “I want all my friends to have vacation houses!”

(Now I say it all the time and he owns the vacation house).

So how disappointed are the parents that spend $60,000 to fly to a college and that kid doesn’t get in? Do they just buy their kid in somewhere else?
