@MDMOM24 What do mean “how they stack up”? Could you clarify?
@MDMOM24, I don’t know the criteria of the three different groups.
Summer: Mandatory attendance of Summer Session. Otherwise, regular Clemson student. Will attend regular classes Fall 2020.
Bridge: pays Clemson tuition and costs. Lives in a special area on campus. Is bussed to tri-county technical college (TCTC) where they will take classes for Fall and Spring semester. Assuming they meet GPA and hour requirements, guaranteed transfer into Clemson.
Waitlist: MAY be offered acceptance to Clemson. Acceptance may be for Spring 21. No guarantee of any offer.
@baxter126 Looking for clarity on how Clemson views wait list kids compared to the kids that they offered Bridge or Summer programs. I thought there was a post that some waitlist kids could be then offered Bridge, but then some getting in as a regular admit. I traditionally think of waitlist as you have the qualifications but you aren’t our first choice so you have to wait and see how many accept. So then sending to bridge doesn’t make sense as the qualifications should be there already, right?
@MDMOM24 I would agree with you and was under the impression that if offered a spot off the waitlist, it could be for summer, fall or spring admission as a regular student, but not the Bridge. I would email admissions for clarification and post here when you do :).
DD was waitlisted. Was her first choice. Come to find out 3-4 kids in her HS that were offered admission and won’t be attending. So annoying! They applied to 8-10 schools just taking up spots they own’t accept. GRRRRR
@mathgeek1414 I feel. 6 kids at my school got in (OOS, MA) and none of them will be attending. It was my first choice and I was waitlisted. Very unfortunate.
Tell them all to hurry up and decline their spots.
My son also got into Penn State, so we will likely out down a deposit there, and wait it out till June 1.
Based on how disappointed people seem with Clemson merit, I think the waitlist will have a lot of admits this year
@mathgeek1414 same with my DD except it was more like 8-9 accepted and none will take their spot either. Deciding between Penn State and FSU. Unless she gets off the waitlist by mid April which is unlikely
Visited Clemson yesterday and talked to an admissions person about being waitlisted…
He said and I quote: “You need to carry yourself over the next few months that you will NOT be attending Clemson University and hope for the best after May 1.”
He said in 2018 they took nearly everyone off the waitlist. Last year he said they take nobody. Absolutely beautiful campus and there isn’t a doubt in my mind I’d spend next four there.
He also said visiting campus and showing continued interest is very very VERY important. Sending an email to admissions and the person who reads your application for your area is important and they do take that into account.
No good news I can really say about being waitlisted other than enjoy the wait! I’ll be here riding along with y’all. I’m from NY Sports Communication major which I also learned is not what it seems. No broadcasting and journalism involved it’s all about the history and philosophy. Should’ve applied for Graphic Communication.
@Jakem01 very interesting. My DD and I went last Monday. They told us the exact same thing. Only thing different was they said that fall 2020 was looking to be pretty full.
It’s a hard process. We are moving forward with securing a deposit at a Tennessee. IF our DD gets offered admittance to Clemson we will forfeit the deposit.
Thanks @Jakem01 and @sunday007 for sharing both your comments about talking to admissions. It is a great reality check to not hold breath for Clemson waitlist.
Luckily daughter just added VA Tech to her acceptances, so now waiting on UGA to decide on where to put down a deposit.
Yes my daughter too. Have you checked the hack to see what it says now? The hack changed 2 days ago for my daughter so I was wondering if anyone else had it change??
Nikolep, what is the ‘hack’?
@nikolep I just checked mine and the hack didn’t change from what is was before.
Still says “token doesn’t match one on file”.
how did your hack change?
Does anyone know how to find out who the admissions advisor is for your state? We are from PA.
@PghMomof2
Clemson doesn’t have state assigned AC.
You can call the admissions office and really talk to anyone.
We found this out months ago when my D first applied. We asked them that and we were told they aren’t aligned like that.
We have been working with the same counselor as we got her name, phone and email way back when.
Go on https://studentonboarding.app.clemson.edu/# and put in your daughters Clemson number and then put in a random number in after that and see what it says
A couple days ago it said no activation code found on record and now it’s says
The activation token you entered does not match the one on record. Please try again. so I was just wondering what everyone else’s says
