clemson admission decisions class of 2022?

Have any nurses been accepted today? If so, would you mind sharing your stats !?!
Our mail comes in the evening - the waiting is killing me - OOS No Va

@tysofly27 my son was accepted to the Business school last month from NJ. He had a 1420 on his SAT. He only went back to take him SAT again (from a 1370) the last time because they told us the freshman currently there had an average of 1340-1380. I hope that helps a little to better understand and I am sorry you did not get accepted. However, your stats are extremely strong and I am sure you have lots of great options.

Anyone get an unavailable over the wkend with the early tell and get accepted today??

@tysofly27 my son has similar stats and is a legacy (x2)… also business major, backup was Economics. We’re looking at it as it’s just not meant to be. We’ll probably never know why.

I’m sorry to hear of the ones being denied. Some of those stats looked very good. My DD’s were 1270, 28, 4.13 Wgpa, major was Chemistry. Her friend got in with 1200 SAT and major was Engineering. No nursing majors here.

I should mention that they are all in state, so there was probably an advantage there as Clemson is a public university.

It also has to do with class rank, course rigor and the stats of those within the major that the student is competing against. And yes, out of state is more competitive. Last year’s freshman class was 68% in-state and 32% out of state.

DD got wait listed. 29 ACT, 3.9 WGPA. Business. Any suggestions?

I was rejected from nursing. Im out of state with a 1300 SAT and 93 average. I believe I did not get in due to the nursing school aspect.

correct! @Baxter126

@Baxter126 totally agree I think it’s 90% class rank and 10% whatever else probably in state. My son did say of the 8 schools he applied to Clemson was the only one that didn’t request the school report. Meaning they’re only interested in the top 10% regardless of GPA, scores, legacy etc.

My son applied business too. I assume rejection but maybe waitlist. Not home yet to open envelope but should be in the mailbox by now. SAT 1320, and now seeing from others, I see that’s not enough. His EC’s were not strong either. Just not meant to be! If it is waitlist I’m sure he wont wait on Clemson. I think they can wait into May to notify.

@MColbyMom unfortunately at Clemson the wait list is bad news. Last year there were 1794 students offered a spot on the wait list. 659 students accepted a place on the wait list. Of those, only 3 were admitted.

Also, wait list students aren’t informed until June 1st. So you still need a backup plan.

@moparmom It’s not weighed quite that heavily and GPA on the 4.0 scale is important to them. They want see consistency. For example, they don’t want a high test score and a low GPA. For what it’s worth 83% of the last year’s Freshman class was top 20%.

@Baxter126 I’m not sure if you have seen other threads but there’s someone that posted they received acceptance today with an 1180 SAT, 22 ACT but top 6% of class. My son was top 22% out of 820 with 1350 SAT, AP galore and community college classes and double legacy. I really feel it’s class ranking, i think they got so many apps this year and stuck with one criteria in accepting and eliminating. Just my opinion.

Rejected for fall but accepted for spring 2019. Anyone else get this? Not bridge

@winnie71 was it a white envelope?

Small envelope. Doesn’t say deferred or waitlist. Said if attend college for a semester and get a 2.5 can transfer in for spring 2019 semester business

@winnie71 that’s interesting haven’t seen that yet. Are you in state? Still waiting on mail here (CA).

Little white envelope arrived today in CT. Waitlisted. Daughter is devastated. Actually, that’s an understatement. Her major is Graphic Communications **ACT 29, GPA 3.83 (UW).

Out of state. 95 gPA 1320
