clemson admission decisions class of 2022?

For those of you wondering about nursing: I got accepted OOS back in December and received a merit scholarship. I had a 3.83 UW gpa (4.06 weighted) and a 31 on the ACT

Congrats to all who got in! Waitlisted 29 ACT 3.7 6 APs - OOS

@shenobe that is so weird. I was waitlisted for Clemson and accepted to Florida. And my stats are similar to your sons

My daughter was accepted today. Major is Language and International Health - Spanish Emphasis. She is legacy applicant. Stats are 1190 SAT, 3.9 weighted GPA and top 30% of 466 students. Lots of EC but major item is that she spent entire Jr. Year of HS as an exchange student in South America and she did submit a personal statement. Could of gone either way or was thinking she would possibly get Bridged. I think the experience of being the 1st kid in her high school to ever study abroad (16 years old at the time) and sharing a very honest/personal account of her experience definitely worked in her favor. We are from NC.

I received my acceptance letter today into the Biological Sciences major! I had a 1320 SAT, 3.2uw/3.6w GPA, ranked within the top 40% of my grad class, pretty good ECs I suppose. I applied OOS from Washington as well. Congrats to everyone else who got in!

Son was accepted to engineering–ACT 33, Weighted GPA 4.8, UWGPA 3.9, class rank top 3%, SC resident. Hoping to hear from Calhoun today!

@shenobe Thanks for the feedback. This is our first time through college apps so I don’t know if it is a strange year or if they are like this. We are both lucky they have great choices. Could be worse. Congratulations to you as well. I assume your son is going to go to Clemson? or is that too close to home for him? We visited UF in November and loved it. Going to Ohio this weekend. It is a toss up right now!

@nuggetsforlife Congratulations to you!

Just got my informed delivery digest. Looks like a little white letter for me, oh well

D got Bridge invitation. Not sure she will do that. Plus you have to accept by March 1 and some of her other colleges don’t send up decisions until after that. Although the costyour first year is a lot less money and for fall of 2018 bridge students actually live on campus at Clemson. Thankfully she already has been accepted at a few colleges so she had choices.

I got accepted into Education program. OOS, 30 ACT, 1280 SAT, 4.6 weighted GPA.

Son accepted to engineering. OOS, 1250 SAT, 4.36 wgpa/3.92 uw, 8 APs/1 DE and lots of honors & engineering electives. (School system doesn’t rank.) 3-sport varsity athlete plus job for 2 years, etc.

In the meantime he’s been accepted ED to Virginia Tech & honors college. Thankful this could have been a great option had VT not worked out. Best wishes to everyone still waiting.

D got wait listed
Letter said she “is a strong candidate for Nursing. and this is not a no.” I think the chances for Nursing from a wait list is zero. Will let us know by 6/1…time to move on. Looks like PITT is the route to go and her mom and I actually like the nursing program way better anyways.
Congrats to everyone who got in! It’s a fabulous school.

Daughter was denied. 4.75 GPA, 1330 SAT, 4 AP classes and 1 dual enrollment class. NHS, Mu Alpha Theta (Nat’l Math Honors Society). Has taken all honors and AP core classes, heavily involved in extra curricular & service, even started her own service club at her school with over 150 active members. BUT her class rank is only top 25% in her graduating class…very competitive school. I’m guessing this was the main reason for her denial. Sad.

132 See you @ Pitt

@ThisMomIsTired I can’t believe that. What majors did your daughter apply for?

@mweb136 First choice was undeclared and second choice was Health Sciences.

@ThisMomIsTired, I was also going to ask which major because it seems a nursing major is near impossible to get into if you’re oos. The trend also shows oos students are held to much higher standards, and like you mentioned, the class rank seems to be more important. Although my daughter’s wgpa was only 4.1 and uwgpa 3.5, her rank was top 15%. I also saw another person on here whose sat were below 1200 but rank was top 6% make it. Surprisingly, class rank seems to out rank test scores.

@DDclass2018 it seems from everything I am reading and hearing that class rank (at least for OOS) was a huge factor in determining acceptance. It’s sad because it really isn’t a good determining factor. We know someone who got in with a 1300 SAT and a 4.3 gpa but she was #1 in her class. Not really comparing apple to apple here. Truth be told, Clemson wasn’t at the top of her list for schools, but it was considered a target school for her. Had we known that rank was such a big factor for Clemson we would have considered it a reach school for her and set her expectations appropriately. This denial is making her stress about the possibility of being accepted at her two top schools (also target schools, supposedly) from which she was deferred for both in early action.

Daughter wait-listed. Kind of surprised also. Highly regarded public school in MA. OOS, 3.8 UW GPA, 1340 SAT, NHS, lots of good ECs, 6 APs, captain etc. She’s already in at a couple of schools (that I felt were more competitive). She didn’t visit the school, so don’t know if that played into it. Our school doesn’t rank class . . .
