clemson admission decisions class of 2022?

Son was admitted OOS, 4.2 WGPA, 6 AP, 1480 SAT/ 34ACT, for anyone accepted does the notification of receiving Merit award come in the acceptance packet or subsequent mailing?

@NCNYDad Acceptance package.

Thanks @burghdad

@apnova Did your son get admitted ED VT for engineering?

Gee whiz who exactly IS getting in? I am now certain that we will be getting the small white envelope. I Just went to the mail box and still no letter from Clemson here in SE Texas and nothing showing on our informed delivery from USPS. A bit annoyed (I am convinced our mail carrier/post office hoards mail). Looks like another day of “happy oblivion” for us.

My son just got his Tiger Bound envelop…we are in NY…28 ACT, 4.1 WGPA, top 5% of his class, 3 sport athlete, lots of ECs and leadership activities. Admitted into the Pre-Professional Health Studies program, undeclared major. Decision will come down to Clemson or Univ of Maryland!

I’m growing more and more anxious. My daughter tried the housing portal ‘back door’ trick posted by another user and got the ‘enter the activation code in your acceptance letter’ message (instead of the ‘unable to determine acceptance status’ message). Nothing in the mail today! Her stats are strong - but some with higher seem to be denied or waitlisted, and others with lower are accepted… it’s so hard to wait so long for the mail! Did anyone else get the ‘activation code’ message via the housing portal, but later got the denial in the mail?

Just got my letter in the mail today. Waitlisted. If I accept the waitlist what are my chances of getting in and what do I do about the May 1st enrollment deadline at most other schools? Anyone else in the same situation?

Daughter has been waitlisted. I expect more will come off the waitlist this year than the 3 who did last year but I think there is very little chance of a resurrection in Death Valley for us as the number will still be low.

My daughter had a 4.6 w/3.8 uw, 5 APS 2 DE, NHS and four other honor societies. Experience in exchange program, played four years of tennis, three years of theatre and several other ECs with depth. Visited the school.

But …is OOS and SATs in low 1200s.

Luckily she has seven great acceptances and at least three of these would be great fits that she is excited about. Also has four pending applications.

Congratulations to all who got in! Best of luck to those still looking!

@apnova DIdn’t early decision to VT require you withdraw all of your other applications? VT ED was binding. That is why my son didn’t do it.

Did everyone get the email today about submitting FAFSA by March 1? My son got in before Christmas, but his friend is waiting to hear and got the FAFSA email. We got it too. Don’t know if it was only sent to people who got in? We are in Texas. @labegg We are in Houston. His letter was mailed on a Wednesday and we got it the following Monday (actually Tuesday because Monday was Christmas). He actually got the activation code email before the letter came. Houston mail is the worst.

Congrats to all accepted! I have 2 DDs… both waitlisted and very disappointed. We are OOS. One applied Sports Communications with 1350 SAT, 4.6 gpa, top 10% of class, NHS Officer, 3 sport athlete and tons of other leadership, community service and ec’s . Other was Health Science, 29 ACT, 4.4 gpa, top 20%. Also NHS Officer, 3 sport athlete with lots of community service and other ec’s too. Sad for them, as it was the top choice for both but they will find their place somewhere else.

Waitlisted OOS. Visited campus, 4.0, 29 ACT, 8 APs, 4 Varsity sports – (competed in 2 sports during fall & winter)–SR captain; State meet qualifier in 3 sports all 4 years; All-American cheerleader; extensive ECs & service hours w/ldrship positions; Fr Honor Society; 4 yr member of nationally ranked chorus; elite private school/does not rank. Very disappointed in Clemson’s inability to put schools in context.

@threedee and @elle88 OMGoodness Those are great scores. I’m sure all of these girls have other great options and will do great wherever they land.

@elle88 It seems like schools that don’t rank are at an extreme disadvantage. She will be great wherever she choose!

@beach1234 Schools that don’t rank are not at any disadvantage. We have asked admissions this many times coming from a school that doesn’t. They have a way to figure out your school profile and where you fit in the rankings. They know schools and their profiles. We were very assured that there was no disadvantage.

Amazing this class rank thing
I have a frd on Long Island, NY-Her D has a 4.0 and is #2 in her class 1290 SAT & Not a competitive hs
My D has a 4.23 & is 12% (#51/408) in her class 1370 SAT & at a very competitive hs in NO Va
Her D is in
Mine is in, but not in her major - nursing

@beach1234 and @TexasStudent2018 Thank you for the encouragement & congrats to all those accepted! We know she will be fine! She has great in-state options with merit aid, Honors College invites & still waiting to hear from a few private schools. Actually shocked to see the high stats for several denied students! Makes me feel better about the WL. I think Clemson’s decision would’ve come with less sting if admissions used a holistic approach. You never know how a compelling teacher rec or personal essay may offset slightly lower grades or test scores. Our disappointment was due primarily to the fact that the admissions folks we spoke with said it was purely a numbers game at Clemson & her guidance counselor thought she was definitely in range. Students can’t help the fact that their schools don’t rank, and we were led to believe that HS context and rigor mattered. For example, DD completed Calculus as a junior and I’ve seen at least one accepted student mention taking non-honors pre-Cal as a senior with very low standardized test scores. Where is the logic? DD is ready to move on, so we will too. She told us she wants to attend a school that is excited to welcome her and Clemson just isn’t meant to be. I certainly don’t envy the job of an admissions officer!! Good luck to all – the journey is just beginning!

we got the financial aid email today, and the housing portal message to ‘enter the activation code in the acceptance email’ but NO LETTER in the mail!!!

@TexasStudent2018 we got the FAFSA email but no letter in the mail. We are in FL.
