Clemson Class of 2025 Admissions

I am looking for anyone’s opinion here. I was waitlisted from my in-state school but got into Clemson, both were my top two. I only received a loan from Clemson which is what I expected I guess. I love Clemson so much but I really just want anyone’s input if Clemson out of state is worth it.

I think it just depends on your ability to pay down these loans and any scholarships you’re able to get. Also take into account what MAJOR you’re pursuing, will you be getting paid good money once you’re out of Clemson. Etc…

i agree their scholarship offers are very weak compared to other schools… honestly, they probably don’t say the amount in the letter initially because they want you to commit early / picture yourself at the school so you go anyway despite having to take on large loans.

Wow. OOS 3.75UW, 34 ACT, also non ranking…$0 scholarship. Funny how these things play out. What is NPC?

@CjL522 L522 I had to laugh, (not at you) but at our state. For perspective. D20 was top 10, 35 ACT, 4.0 uw, 8 or 9 APs and got all of $300 from our in-state flagships, and we didn’t have a state funded scholarship program like SC, GA or FL. I like Clemson, but there is not that much pre-thought and no mental game play going on with the scholarships. Just a constant battle for funds with the state legislature. If it could ever get approved, they’d probably be better off going to a private university. Too much government control, not enough funding (less than 10% comes from the state).
@GetCollege19 for us UGA was the most expensive OOS (received $10k +honors), UTK was the cheapest OOS (received $22-23k +honors), Clemson came in at $12k/year +1-2 extra +honors, UNC would’ve been the cheapest since it was IS, but she hated it. No idea what UofSC would’ve been; we couldn’t get her to even apply :joy:

Am I missing a shortcut, or is Clemson’s way getting to find out scholarship awards the most convoluted of any school in the country? Why can’t they just update your application portal like every other school does?

I got $500 university and $10,500 OOS tuition scholarship, so 11K per year total

does anyone know if clemson requires that students take a summer term… ik Florida mandates it

Yep, same as my D. These are the highest ones I have seen on here so far for OOS which is shocking to me.

Would you mind sharing your stats?

I got 500 dollar clemson scholarship thing, 4500 tuition scholarship thing, and 5k in laons, total about 10000. I have a 4.2 at a very hard private school, and a 1440 sat, 760 on math. big bruh moment

Im pretty late to this but how do you set up your iRoar account? Im so confused I just have my application portal

This worked for me:

NPC is the net price calculator Calc: Calculator - Net Price

Usually it’s a combination of GPA, test score and class rank. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen with a non ranking school.

Pact is renewable according to the description in my daughter’s iRoar. Click the name of the Dean’s Scholarship and the description should open up with details.

Same.

Thanks. Mine’s still showing Life but I qualified for Palmetto Fellows and filled out all the info and submitted documentation so… I’m going to wait till Friday and if it hasn’t changed email the FA office.

Thank you!

A pet peeve, but I hate it when schools throw in the Stafford Loan amount with merit scholarships into your “award.”

D21 got $6500 OOS in actual merit. 4.0/4.7 GPA, top 15 in class of 400, 8 AP’s, test optional. Sorry Clemson, you have a lot going for you, but it’s really hard to justify that OOS tuition against competitors like UF, FSU, UGA, or USC when it gives in-state tuition. Much less UNC in-state.
