My daughter is trying to see her merit award. But she mentioned that she’s supposed to have an activation code to set up her iROAR account, which is said to be in her acceptance letter. But there is no activation code listed there. Any ideas? Thanks!
it should be on the admissions portal on Next Steps, then click Username activation under Start Your Onboarding Process.
Ok thanks - I’ll have her check
These might be including grants.
Mine will decline also.
I see a lot of comments about people planning to decline. I’m 99% sure we will as well.
Can’t justify paying 2x-3x the tuition cost.
Anyone not planning on declining at this point?
I had 35 ACT, 4.0/4.45 GPA, 7 APs, 19 Honors, NHS and a bunch of clubs with leadership, competitive dance, from a super competitive NC public HS
OOS son got $7500 +$500, he’s declining - would have done so sooner but wanted to wait for merit award just in case it made Clemson financially competitive.
Add OOS $5500 as well. Son received and just denied acceptance.
we will be declining but OOS $7500 plus the $500. 32 Act, 4.45 GPA w, APs, strong student, etc… Congrats to everyone and good luck next fall! Hope everyone has a great year!! (our decision came down to money, honors college, and the fact our D wants to also go to grad school. Would hate to be in admissions this year and try to figure out yield in this crazy covid environment.)
Declining. So riduclous. Very strong student with outrageous extra-curriculars!
Based on just the sample of all of our responses, their yield may be ridiculously low!
OOS, awarded 7k. I’ll be declining admission.
OOS $7500 + $500… declining
My daughter is also OOS $7500 + $500 and declined last night. Best of luck to the Clemson Class of 2025!
That’s very nice of you to withdraw your acceptance since you aren’t planning to attend! However, it does not mean that someone will get in from the waitlist. Every school over accepts students based on what they think their yield will be. So if Clemson hopes to enroll 3000 kids they may accept 6000 if they know only 50% will actually attend. Only if their yield ends up being lower than anticipated will they go to the waitlist. For example, only 2000 of the accepted kids enroll. Now they need to go to the WL to drum up another 1000. Hope that makes sense.
Yes but i would imagine they are going to have way more declines this year so yes theoretically if they get a very high number of declines now then they will start pulling from the weight list. By the looks of it the only people who will be able to afford Clemson are the very rich or those who did a great job saving or those who are ok with having a mortgage payment when they graduated. Sad for those kids who were very high stats.
Does anyone know whether or not Clemson will update my award package if I get Palmetto Fellows later in the year? I currently qualify for LIFE (that’s what’s listed in iROAR), but I just took another SAT yesterday to hopefully get the 1400 I need to qualify.
Seriously though, I feel cheated as an in-state student with high stats. I’ve worked really hard throughout high school, and Clemson is my dream school. They gave me $1000/yr in actual scholarship, and I’m basically dependent on good luck with my SAT to have any hope of not being in significant debt.
The financial aid email sent yesterday says that as the SC Commission verifies students for PF they will update iRoar to be for PF instead of LIFE.
How do you see the scholarship information if you haven’t accepted? My daughter can’t login to IRoar because it says she isn’t an enrolled student.
