Same, nine changed to that as well. Was the reference number and Clemson ID there before too? I can’t remember
Yes, those were both there
I applied on January 9th and my portal says you should receive a decision by mid-February or soon thereafter…do think I will actually get it by mid Feb?
If Clemson releases only by mail and not via the portal, does that mean we would be able to see waitlist/rejection letters through USPS Informed Delivery since they’re smaller than the packets?
Yes, I think that is accurate. If you read last year’s posts that was the case.
Do they post rejection on the portal also? Not that we’re expecting one …just wondering if they do both in the portal.
I don’t think they’ve communicated any denials yet this year—just a small number of early acceptances, that were communicated via portal and followed up with a mailing. Other schools seem to be doing all decisions via portal and following up with acceptance packages only via mail. Makes sense—saves $ and doesn’t rub salt in the wound by communicating bad news twice.
I really think portal decision on Friday and acceptance packets mailed out the same day so Informed Delivery won’t be that helpful
I’m a UT grad and I’m mortified at the way they handled their admissions this year. My daughter was selected as a semi-finalist for the Forty Acres Scholars Program - full ride to UT (187 selected out of 4700 applicants) and found out Feb. 1 that she got PACE’d (where you spend your first year at a community college). Beyond insane that she would get a full ride dangled in front of her and then didn’t even fully get accepted! It’s a crazy year.
@lisacarpediem Wow, that’s terrible! The college admissions process is stressful enough. I know we are in a pandemic, but all the more reason for schools to try to be thoughtful of and transparent with all their applicants.
I wouldn’t doubt it. I had a neighbor from down the street have to walk an Auburn (general mailing) packet down to me a few months ago. When he dropped it off he said “You know there’s better schools, right?” lol (He went to UF)
That was my biggest gripe with UT. Love the school (have a daughter there and another that graduated in 2019) but the way they handled this year’s round of admissions was dreadful. As if these kids weren’t already dealt a crappy card with COVid and no senior year of HS. My kid was CAP’d. My daughter who’s there was PACE’d and it worked out perfectly for her. PACE and CAP are great if the intent was always to go to the Liberal Arts School or Moody College of Comms. Any other college, neither pathway program is worth it IMO. And to get that far with Forty Acres Scholars and get PACE’d, yes, I’d be upset too. Sigh…BEST OF LUCK TO YOUR DAUGHTER!!
My niece’s best friend was just accepted today! My son has not heard yet nor has my niece.
Awesome! Do you know if she found out via portal or mail?
Portal
No update to my daughter’s portal yet…
Do you know what major?
I haven’t heard anything yet. Was it this morning or more recently? Maybe they are starting to roll out now.
Exciting to think that they might be on their way! Good luck to your son!
Do you think they could be on a rolling basis for today and some come out later in the evening?
