Clemson Class of 2025 Admissions

Which major? Will his DE credits fill the gened and/or freshman class requirements for his intended major (calc 1 and 2, chem, bio, physics, composition, literature, SS, non lit requirement, etc)? Look up the course plan for his intended major and then you can find the DE equivalency here:

Sooo confused… portal changed from “you’ll receive a decision mid-february” to “in a timely fashion” now that’s gone too… does anyone else have similar. Applied to Health Sciences with no scores and 5.0 GPA? Admittedly I’m an International applicant wo maybe that’s why I haven’t heard yet?

Stupid question… when you’re waitlisted, are you waitlisted for your major or a general waitlist?

So then if it didn’t mention merit does that mean there isn’t any

Once that banner is gone you should receive a decision soon. Probably tonight.

Sadly that seems to be the case. No mention of merit in my D’s letter. Congratulations to your D on her acceptance!

Is it possible Clemson could come back with a merit offer once those who received offers start declining?

Clemson weighing rank so heavily is interesting to me - our county stopped releasing rank info. because of how competitive our top high schools are. I’m seeing postings with gpa’s stating they’re in top 5% that would barely land in our top 20%

My son’s high school doesn’t rank and he got merit, so I’m not sure how much I’d say they use rank so heavily

I believe that is why they use it. Because class rank compares kids in the same environment (grading scale, course offerings, etc.). You can’t compare GPAs of kids from different schools without recalculating due to the variability in GPA scales from one school/district/state to another. Rank gives them an idea of how a particular student performed relative to peers within their particular setting. My daughter has a 5.264 W and is ranked in the top 2%. Other schools may not even have a weighted GPA that goes above a 5, or they may have one that goes to 6 or 10, in which case her 5.264 would look low. The rank % provides significant context.

My son was accepted to the Summer Bound program as well. It’s confusing because it seems as if the program was designed for students that may need extra support with the transition to college-level academics, but judging by the stats of the students posted here, it doesn’t seem like extra support would be needed.

Well I don’t know the answer so I hope it’s not that stupid of a question

Your school many not rank, but Clemson has all the stats (grades, classes, GPA) of everyone applying from each HS, county, etc to build their own rank. They can see where the students compare against their peers.

Yes without merit there is no way mine will even consider going. Anyone know for sure how that works?

I’m sorry; I know this process is a roller coaster ride. Did the NPC show merit was likely?

I got accepted in December, and never got my code. I had to call yesterday to get it. She said they were getting a lot of calls about that.
