My daughter’s acceptance said merit would come in mid-February. It has not shown up yet.
Thanks for that info! Great to hear! Did your daughter apply to HC also? Will HC and scholarships be announced together do you think?
No she did not I hope they announce HC and merit soon!
HC sent applicants an email that decisions will be released after 4:30 today.
Just confirmed with my son that he got that mail! Do you believe it will also include merit/scholarship? Thanks so much and good luck to all!
I do not believe so.
Update: like 5 minutes after I posted they sent an email out saying mid March…
Hearing about the honors college at 4:30 ET today. Merit offers SAID February but if you look in the portal and online they now say March. Originally they said early March, but that got delayed to mid March. So I don’t have an answer for you. I’m disappointed that I had to go and find this conflicting information, never was it emailed out that it would be delayed. I’d love to find out so I know if I have to decline my acceptance to let some of the Wait listed in… it would really be better for everyone if they had these FA packages sooner.
I had mid-February in my head too, but I double-checked my D’s acceptance letter (from November) and it just says “February” not mid-February, so I think it’s just sometime in the month of February.
My son just told me he got an email saying scholarships/FA would be announced mid-March
My son was accepted to the Summer Bound program as well and I agree with you. It’s confusing because the program seems to be designed for students who might benefit from support in transitioning to college-level academics, but I think it’s being used to offer a place to students that would have been accepted if there had been space left in their intended major… or something like that. Based on the stats of the students offered acceptance to TTSB, they don’t seem like a group who would require extra support for meeting the demands of college-level work.
Yes my daughter just received the same email. This is disappointing, it just delays the decision making process. It is a strange year. Maybe they want to see who declines acceptance before they finalize the merit. Good luck to everyone.
Same-my D just got an email that “financial aid awards” would be communicated in March. We don’t qualify for need based aid; didn’t file FAFSA. Any chance financial aid might include merit? (No mention of merit in D’s acceptance).
Yep mine just showed up today. Thank you!
OK so does this mean merit awards too? I never understand if financial aid just means need based or in this case if it will include merit based as well. We won’t qualify for need based (cause we don’t live in a box on the street).
We are pleased to welcome you to Clemson University and hope you will become Tigertown Bound.
We realize that one of your next steps is learning about the financial aid awards you will receive because this is an important part of your decision to attend.
We are sending you this email today to let you know that financial aid award information will be available by mid-March. You will receive an email from the Office of Student Financial Aid with details on how to log into the iROAR portal and view your financial aid award package.
If you have submitted a FAFSA, you will receive details about the federal aid you qualify for, including Federal Direct Loans and Work-Study. Even though the recommended deadline for the FAFSA has already passed, you are still able to submit it at FAFSA.gov .
Once you have reviewed your financial aid awards, you are welcome to contact our office with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Office of Student Financial Aid
I agree it would have been SOOO nice to know in February as initially promised. My son has to respond to an offer from another school by Mid-March which includes tuition, room and board. We were greatly hoping to to have all of the details from other schools before accepting or declining. Thanks for the updates everyone and best of luck to all!
Ugh I wish the subject line had mentioned that merit was postponed because I thought the update meant they had posted the awards.
I believe it will include merit as well since it states “If you have submitted a FAFSA, you will receive details about the federal aid…”.
My daughter’s letter is worded slightly different and specifically references “as a scholarship recipient…”
Just more waiting…I’m so over it.
And here is the thing…both UofSC and Clemson come out in March now. So lets see which we get first cause I don’t know about all of you but we are 100% over it and if one of those come back with a decent package mine will most likely commit that day.
Yes, my daughter’s says this as well. Good luck!
