So glad to hear there were no serious injuries, thought 30 were injured, multiple broken bones, etc. https://www.wktv.com/content/national/498137721.html Hope all recover quickly.

And typo above- though, not thought.
I saw some of the video. Amazing and scary! Time to talk to the kiddos again – if the floor is bouncing like a trampoline, leave the building.
Something similar happened near Houston a few years ago. A family was having a Indian religious event. A large group of family members and friends were gather in a bonus room over their garage when the floor gave way. There were many serious injuries, since there were elderly relatives upstairs and I think some below.
A floor collapse like this is pretty rare, but obviously happens.
But you should talk to the kiddos about a potential collapse of an outdoor decks filled with party attendees. Much more frequent and dangerous.
A stupid question, but I’m curious - did anyone say what song was playing?
Faneto. It’s a gangsta rap song.
@tutumom2001 - Thank you.
Chief Keef “Faneto” I think it is Drill music.
Thank God neither of my nieces were at that party!
@northwesty I said to my husband, remember the episode of ER when two doctors were at a house party and the outside upper deck collapsed? It was based on a tragic true story in Chicago. Scary.
This also happened at a party at The University of North Texas last year. 50 people stomping on the 2nd/3rd floor of an apartment is never a good idea.
