CLEMSON, My Dream School, Make Me feel Better & Tell Me My Chances

Clemson is the only school that I really feel attracted too. I have others on my list, but the desire to go there is much less. Here is what I have to show the school; any feed back is appreciated.

GPA: 4.07 weighted (5 scale)

SAT: 2070

Courses: Freshman year was mostly low level classes, but the rest of High school were the highest level possible.

-I want to major in Bio engineering

-Also, I am from Massachusetts (Does Clemson want northerners?)

Extra Curriculars:

-Eagle Scout

-Attended National Youth Leadership training & was nominated to join staff (boy scouts)

-participated in many service projects through the boy scouts

-Interned at the Tufts University Kaplan Lab for BioMedical Engineering
- published a research poster on using silk as a biomaterial
- Had an independent study in which I determined sonication parameters for the formation of silk hydrogels
- submitted my research to the Siemens science competition

-Dual Varsity athlete (Basketball and Lacrosse)

thanks for the feed back guys. The only thing that is worrying me are my grades.

Extracurriculars almost have no impact on admissions. It’s mostly just stats like grades, GPA, class rank.

I don’t think Clemson is looking for a specific out-of-state group. It’s always going to be 2/3rd South Carolina, 1/3rd the best of everywhere else.

Your SAT/GPA is good. Keep it up and you’ll get in!

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions about Clemson!

You have great chances. If not for the GPA, I’d say Clemson would almost be a safety for you. Your SATs are above their 75th percentile, your EC’s are outstanding, you’re an Eagle Scout, and you provide geographic diversity. Your grades are about average for the school. I’d say 85-90% chance of acceptance.
