Hello everyone! I was accepted to both of these universities and I’m having a very difficult time choosing which one to attend. I am from Virginia and I did not get any scholarship money from both universities. My parents told me to not worry about the cost of the schools and focus on which one would make me happy, but I can see myself at both of these schools which is making the decision very hard. I toured both schools and I really enjoyed each campus as well as the activities that occur on campus. I do not know what I will be majoring in, so it would be nice to go to a university that would really help me find my passion. I want to go to a university that will surround me with positive and supportive people who will bring out the best in me. I am hoping someone finds this and helps me make more of an informed decision (I have been researching both universities and their majors). I was planning on going down to see both of these schools again before I made a decision, but I can no longer do that due to the Coronavirus. Thank you to anyone who replies with advice!
@ceb218 Do you have any idea of a possible area of study? Business, STEM, education? They’re both great schools; UGA was in D20s final 3. She could’ve seen herself at either school; the reason she chose Clemson: small classes for her major, great academic support, smaller, friendly campus, top 10 happiest students (this was important to her), #1 career office and great co-op opportunities (these were very important to her). These are just to give you examples of things to consider, not that one school is better for you. Think about what is important to you. You have two great options. Good luck!
THink about which school can the easiest land you top jobs
Think about the location, which college is at the best location especially if you want to find a job there after four years
The money label may be true in most cases but the aid office differs by school to school too. Like a state uni thats less competitive in terms of rank likely has a less financial aid package for you. School with higher ranking may has a higher financial aid for you and cancels more and left less in its amount.
Think about each’s national level ranking which affects tons (on USNWR).
Now left you to decide and look on the national rankings .
I guess you already know, but a major difference is that UGA is a traditional ‘flagship’ university, whereas Clemson started out as an ag and engineering school. UGA has much more robust offerings in the humanities and performing arts (you can major in Classics or Russian at UGA but not Clemson). But if you’re more of a STEM or Business person you can’t go wrong with Clemson.
