Clemson or University of Delaware?

Hi all! I know UD and Clemson are in two different locations, but they're both my top choices and I just wanted to know if anyone could give me some input about Clemson! Is UD or Clemson a better school academically and overall? It's going to be a very difficult decision. Thank you!

What’s you rmajor? Any particular reason you like either schools? What’s your financial situation like?

I looked at both with my son - really liked them both. I was set on UD until we visited Clemson and was blown away by Clemson. I think Clemson’s engineering program is stronger the UD (my son’s major) and the sports program is bigger and more successful. Plus the Clemson campus is a bit nicer, although UD’s town area is bigger. Tough call, but we chose Clemson pretty easily.

Thank you so much for your replies! I don’t have a particular major-I got into both undecided, which makes it even harder! Money isn’t a factor because they’re both around the same price for me. I’m touring Clemson on Saturday so I’ll get the feel of the campus then. It’s a difficult decision because they’re both great schools, except isn’t Clemson a little more highly regarded academically? Delaware also has a fantastic study abroad program which is something I am interested in as well.

Please let us know what you thought of Clemson and your final decision vs. UD.

That’s a tough decision, obviously I think you might have a better idea once you visit Clemson. Clemson is ranked higher in US News but the difference between the two schools isn’t a lot so I wouldn’t put too much stock into that (Clemson is #22 for public colleges, Delaware #31). Clemson has a pretty great study abroad program as well. I know a lot of people who have gone abroad and have had great experiences.
If there’s anything else you want to know about Clemson, let me know! Good luck.
