Clemson Out of State Admission

Im from New York with an 89 avg and 1190/1810 SAT. Clemson is my number 1 choice by far and i was wondering if i can get in. Also on the application it didnt ask for an essay so I was wondering if i missed something. Thanks

think you’ve got a decent shot - Clemson doesn’t require you to write an essay but they should provide you a space on the application where you can include one if you want

Clemson has a candidate’s comments section, which is optional. But, I just read an article by an admissions director (not Clemson) who said that any optional question that is answered works to the benefit of the candidate. Good luck.

I’ll say this about the “candidate’s comments” question - if you have something to add to your application that isn’t addressed anywhere in your application, definitely write something down. If not, then you don’t have to.

Clemson is a low match.

I’m pretty confident you’re in. If you have even decent ECs, I’d give it a 100% in. You New Yorkers sure don’t like the ACT!
